Snippets of the week: In Instagram

latelly instagrams

I decided to bring you the snippets of the week in a different format today, in circle instagrams using my new favorite app called afterglow. This is a collection of the past few weeks, in the first set, these are my tunes lately lots of Fançoise Hardy and Beach Boys. The top first photo is from yesterday, I was ironing something and saw that a falcon had just landed on the roof top in front of me, he was so amazing to see :) The queen graffiti is from when mom and me went in old Montreal, I love the colors and stash ;{

Yesterday it snowed for real, I said goodbye to my pretty new cat shoes and hello to my trusty cougar pillow boots. My tattoo is coming along and I am in love with it, the colors and shadowing, Pepe the guy doing my tattoo over at Pol tattoo is so amazing with flowers he is so nice for putting up with me and my funny stories, I get it finished tomorrow morning yay!

After a long search in the city I found myself a copy of the new Lula, I squealed inside when I did and gave a big smile to the clerk when I paid for it. The photo shoots are amazing, the styling is perfection as per usual and they all look so good stacked up in my bibliotheque.

And finally, the cat skirt is no longer just an idea in my head, these fun fancy feline skirts will hit my etsy shop over the weekend I am so excited, I really love this skirt so much  :) I found an adorable dusty pink crochet 60s dress, it needs a lot of TLC, I plan on wearing it for the first time during the holidays.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Vintage Montreal

Vintage Montreal

I came across some pretty interesting vintage photos of  downtown Montreal in the mid 60s on the weekend and I had to share with you all. I can't stop looking back at these candid shots of people in the city without knowing that these were taken. Stéphane and  I always walk by these streets and to see them  back them makes me think and wish I was there. I think my favorite part of all of these is that there are people wearing vintage fashions that I have only seen in movies or vintage booklets and to see them in these photos makes it real and very interesting. These mostly look like they were shot in the Summer, the last one looks like it was taken in the cold months before Christmas, i love the little old couple holding on to each other and I totally have that women's red coat with the fur collar and those old fishbowl buses blow me away. Ah the nostalgia!
Enjoy the pics everyone :)

Fancy Cats

Fancy Cats

I finally got my hands on a pretty nice and cheaper version of the Charlotte Olympia cat flats on ebay a few ago and they arrived in the mail on Friday. I just can't bring myself to pay 700$ for flats I would rather get something affordable on ebay. They are actually pretty comfy and I am impressed by the quality of the shoes I got for a cheap 30$. I originally ordered the black ones but they made a mistake and sent me the burgundy ones, I decided to keep them, I love the gold stitching ;) It is getting pretty cold around these parts hence the lack of outfit posts this weekend.

This is what i wore today, I went fabric shopping and got some more polka dot fabric to make some cat skirts that will be hitting my etsy shop in the next few weeks. I am still having a 20% off sale in my shop today with coupon code "BLACKOUT" so get some deals while they are still hot!

Have a great beginning of the week everyone :)

School Daze

School Daze

When I found this vintage cheerleader sweater up in Topenga canyon this Summer I knew I would be wearing it all Fall and Winter long. This one is extra special to me because it has a name on it, I feel like Becky when I wear it. I never see theses sweaters in Montreal while thrifting or even in our local vintage shops. I found an other one with this one in a long tee shirt style that I wore to this event. Stéphane found himself a pretty amazing hunter green men's varsity jacket as seen bellow in this post. We both had and thing in California for anything cheerleader or varsity, maybe it's all those 80s movies we love to watch. I convinced Stéphane to take my photos on the way to the post office, poor guy still has really bad tendinitis in his right shoulder he did a great job :)

Snippets of the week

Snippets of the week
Last week I collected a few snippets of last week's adventures and what i was working on and what not, I was not sure if I wanted to share these pictures but I really like the vibe in these, they are me and this is my life day to day. This is going to be a weekly post, kind of like a visual diary.
Snippets of the week
I was playing around with this wide angle lens my mom gave me it only works on my camera with all the parts on it, she says it can be a macro and wide angle but it only focuses on with both together, I really like the dreamy affect it gives.

Here is mom in Old Montreal, I love this angle and the building, I think my favorite part of this is the street names on each side.

We visited this cute little gift shop, they had loads of cute handmade stuff, I really enjoyed the Phentex knit hats and the sign in the window ;) They also had some Jean Charest patato mashers that were quite funny.

Lastly, I took a few shots of my Blythe dolls, they always just sit on the shelf and never get photographed as much as they use to. I need to make more clothing for them very soon, maybe a mini cat skirt or dress? hehe.
Have a lovely week everyone!

Ruffle it

3
I am not a big fan of Mondays so I decided to brighten up my day yesterday with this Kelly Green ruffle 60s top my friend Sarah gave me last year. Every time I wear it I get remarks like nice Christmas tree you got there ;) I am aware of the sillyness of this top but I still love it, it reflects my personality, not taking myself to seriously and just having plain fun with the way I dress everyday. I took these real quick in the morning before heading into work, it was pretty cold but I am getting faster with shooting in these temps. Lets see how it goes when it really gets frigid cold, I may have to come up with more genius ways of styling my coats and boots.

Postcards from Montreal

Postcards from Montreal

I had so much fun today hanging out with my mom in Old Montreal, we had a nice lunch at Olive et Gourmando, the food was great but the service was not so friendly, we waited 30 mins before getting a table but it was pretty much worth it just for the nice warm tomato soup and amazing coffee. We had so much fun just walking around acting like tourists in our own city, we actually met a cute couple doing the exact same thing as us. They helped us in taking pictures and got a shot of me and mom together :)
I was in awe in front of the Habitat 67 building behind me in this first photo, they were built in 1967 for the expo. A great view to see if you come visit some day...
I got to wear my newest creation the yeye cat skirt, I will be making a few of these and selling them in my etsy shop in the next few weeks, mom already placed and order she approves ;) I think this is one of my favorite designs I have made so far, fun and easy to wear.
Have a lovely weekend everyone and enjoy these shots from beautiful old Montreal ;)
