Happy Halloween from Cat Girl

Cat Girl

Remember that dress I was working on this Sunday? I got around to finishing it, I really like how it turn out, the cat shaped pockets are my favorite, I am quite pleased with the mini pom pom detail peeking out of the pockets and collar. What do you guys think? I am wearing it with my rhinestone cat ears head band, I bought it at UO a few weeks ago and have been wanting to wear it way more then I should, I make heads turn in the metro but I don't care ;)

Last night I saw on tv that some places in the US are getting crazy snow blizzards, weird thing is that yesterday in Montreal is was freakishly warm for this time of year almost Summer weather, I had my blazer on and I was really warm. This whole Sandy thing is really weird and it gave me weird nightmares all night long. Stay safe guys!

I decided to shoot in black and white since it makes the pictures more moody and spooky...

Happy Halloween everyone!

Sewing Sunday's

My little world on Sundays

For some time now I was thinking about posting snap shots of what it is I do when I am not blogging or liking pretty images on tumblr and pintrest. Today I have been slaving away at this new design idea I had for some time, a mod style cat dress, I found the prefect mini pom pom trim for the cat pockets and the peter pan collar. I really love this black and white polka dot floral cotton I am using for most the dress, it sews perfectly and fits great for this design.

I am currently listing to Sylvie Vartan and some of her friends to get me in the sewing mood. The zipper is in, all that is left to do is put it together, my goal is to have it done by Wednesday so I can wear it with my cat ears at work ;) I am going to be a yeye kitty girl. Well I better get back to work, I will keep you guys updated for the finished product. I took a few pictures of my messy studio space because some of you were curious about it, I have stuff everywhere, I guess I kind of have some sort of order to it, but only I know it ;)

Have a lovely Sunday every one.

Emerald Lady

Emerald lady

What lovely weather we have been having this week, Fall is so beautiful this year, I really love it when it last this long before it starts to get frigid cold. This is what I wore today to work, one of my favorite vintage knit dresses from my collection. I came across this gem a few years ago and always look forward to Fall for wearing it. I had fun again with the black and white photos, I love the mood it gives, in the second photo I seem to be channeling my inner spooky 60s film actress ;)

I had these ombre tights since last year but never got around to wearing them, I really like them paired with the pretty green color of this dress. I wore pointed flats to make my legs look longer, it almost looks like I am wearing some type of crazy lace boots.

Have a lovely weekend everyone, do you have fun parties your going to for Halloween? We plan on watching scary movies and eating way to much sugar goodness ;)

Navy and Mustard

Mustard navy

It has been really warm so far this October, perfect for knee socks! My new favorite obsession I wish these did not slide down when I walk but I guess that is the charm with over the knee socks ;)
I added a velvet bow tie to this simple white blouse to give it a vintage school girl look, if only I could wear outfits like these all year long. Yesterday I went to a vintage sale in Griffin town and got my nails done by a lovely lady named Laura Boo from drop dead manicures, she made my cat nails dreams a reality! If you are in the Montreal area I highly recommend her services, she is so sweet and awesome to chat with while she is working her magic.

Yeye Etsy Weekly Update

Yeye weekly updates

This week in the shop I added a collection of darker Fall pieces I have been saving for the Fall-Winter months, I have much more to come next week, when I am out hunting for vintage I try to find pieces that can be worn with modern pieces. My favorite piece this week is the taupe ruffle blouse in the last picture, it is a 60s piece, I wish I was just a tad bigger to fill it in, I am sure it will go to a nice home very soon ;)

Everything you see here is in the shop already so take a look here.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Old Port Fun Times!

Old Mtl hangouts

Yesterday I met up with my stylish mom to check out la grande braderie de mode Québécoise, but when we got there there was a massive line up that would have taken hours for us to get in and grab a deal on some designer goods from Birds of north America so we decided to goof off and snap as many pictures as we could in beautiful old Montreal instead. I  forgot how beautiful it looks this time of year. My favorite monument is the "Jean Drapeau" statue, I love his pose and his glasses, don't you?  Jean Drapeau was a very important man in the history of Montreal, he is the man behind the lovely metro and of course the famous Expo 67

Mom was as cute as can be, by chance I had a coffee in hand for her ;)

Down the stairs was where I had my wedding pictures taken and it was in the 1920's a farmers market and in the 1800's it was a place for military parades.
