Di doo dah!

Ive been having a hard time taking outfit pictures outside lately the weather is out of control, one minute it rains and the next it's pretty sunshine with a cold breeze in the air. Alas I have an amazing boyfriend who will help me out with my mini shoots in Montreal alley ways. I got this dress back in the cold months of Winter and did not wear it till now. I picked it up from my amazing friend Sarah who runs Cheapopulence vintage on Etsy and by appointment in Montreal. This hat print was screaming my name! Be sure to check out her shop she updates all the time with amazing vintage treasures.

I was wearing:

-Vintage 70s Novelty printed hat dress, from Cheapopulence Vintage :)
-Leather tooled mini backpack, souvenir from Cuba from my mother
-H&M black tights
-Nine West Wedge heels, thrifted
-Lip rouge by Lime Crime in Retro Futurist
-Nails done by me using Sally Hansen Nail Effects

Sunshine in the morning

Yesterday morning was too cold for words but I had to photograph my outfit, these yellow shoes and bag were the perfect things to brighten up my day. These shoes are by an old surf brand called Hang Ten, next week Annex will be having a special sale with a bunch of these dead stock shoes at there shop so hurry up and snatch yourself up a pair of these they are so rare! Both these items are from Annex Vintage the shop I spoke of in my last post. The grey and white stripped blouse is also from there. This shop really has an amazing selection of vintage, they have to be one of my favorites in Montreal.  By the end of the day the sky was blue and there was a beautiful sunset around 8pm. I went fabric shopping and thrifting with my mother and found a beautiful vintage Missoni Mohair and Cashmere maxi skirt and then a few steps out of the store I found 20$ on the ground, it must have been my lucky day!

I was wearing:

-Vintage 80s grey and white stripped blouse c/o Annex Vintage
-Vintage 80s navy and white polka dot skirt
- Vintage yellow leather bag c/o Annex Vintage
-Vintage Hang Ten woven flats c/o Annex Vintage
-White tights, Forever 21

Annex Vintage

Earlier this week I visited  a new favorite local vintage boutique here in Montreal. Annex is the name, owned by a very nice lady named Gen on St-Viateur street .  As you can see from the pictures I took inside the shop there is so much great stuff waiting to be taken to a nice home. Every item is hand picked and nicely curated. A must stop for every vintage lover in Montreal and for visitors. You can find  vintage from a few local Etsy sellers like Caesar Pony and Cheapopulence. This shop also has a sister store on Bernard street called Local 23 and they do buy/sell and trade. I really like that idea, it reminds me of stores like Buffalo Exchange and Beacon's Closet. I actually worked at the Buffalo Exchange in Phoenix as a buyer years ago and really loved the idea of buy/sell and trade. I am glad that I found out that Montreal has a similar shop.

If you haven't visited Annex I highly recommend that you do, they are well priced and very affordable, the best part is that vintage clothing and accessories are one of a kind!  I don't know if your like me but I would rather pay 40$ for a pair of vintage shoes then 40$ for a pair of shoes that will last a week from Forever 21. Nothing beats the vintage!  The lovely ladies who run the shop are so helpful and nice, this shop really brings a smile to my face :)

Hope to see you there
