Artist to look for Karine Leger

In the past year I have met some pretty interesting people. One of my favorite's has to be Karine Leger, a Montreal artist that has taken my breath away with her art and friendship.
This been said, there is a lot of art out there these days but her work really takes me somewhere else. I love her use of color and they she tints the skin of her creepy but yet beautiful ladies.

I am not that great at expressing what I really feel in writing, I have never been such a good writer and French being my mother tongue and all but I will let these paintings speak for them selfs.

This is my favorite!

If you wish to see more of Karine's art you can visit her here

And her flickr for her amazing photography

What is new in my wardrobe and what I wore today

Here is a collection of photos of a few things I thrifted recently that have been added to my wardrobe. Three items were given to me by the lovely Claire over at Mamushkah Marie, we did this really fun vintage exchange. She gave me the Stripped dress, floral skirt and floral jacket. I altered the length of the dress and skirt to be more wearable everyday :) Thank you Claire you are a doll!

The rest are all from thrift stores, my favorite has to be the Silk blue and white stripped blouse with pleated Pierrot collar. The purple dress I spiffed up a bit, the hem was all wonky and the hook and eyes needed to be re sewn.

Today was one of those long days at work, I got a lot done and I am just about ready to sit on my couch and listen Stéphane's new Gainsbourg 45s.

I chose to wear something simple and comfy:

-Straw hat, Vintage
-Floral blouse, vintage
-Leather belt, Vintage
-Corduroy skirt, Vintage
-Green socks, Calvin Klein
-Brown loafers, vintage
-Sparrow Skull pendant, Talonalia won via The Clothes Horse giveaway

Back and Well

Please excuse my lack of posting this week. It has been a busy and long week in our place. Everything is great now and we spent a lazy Sunday shopping and snoozing around the apartment.

I took these pictures myself this afternoon, I bought myself a new Simon & Garfunkel LP over at Cheap thrills, one of my favorite record shops in Montreal. I always seem to find something. Summer is just flying by and my time off school will soon be over already, it will be a hard one but after this one it is all over.

I added a few items in the etsy shop on Monday but did not finish. I will be adding some more on Tuesday, I promise!

My attire details:

- Blouse, YaYa Nom de Plume from UO
- Glasses, American Optical
- Leather belt, Vintage
- Polka dot skirt, Femmes de Carrières found at Friperie Rennaissance
- White socks with red hearts, H&M
- Brown leather oxfords, Fx Lasalle

Miu Miu Dreaming

I don't think I will ever get over the greatness that is Miu Miu, I just checkout the ressort collection and I fell in love with the apple prints and those hearts!

These wedges kill me!

I also would love to own a pair of these amazing tights from the Fall/Winter collection...

Oh! and of course anything from the actual collection would be just peachy :)

Sunday rantings

Yesterday was a nice cloudy kinda sunny day, we got a lot done like biking all over the place to prepare for our window changing this week and had ice cream, a first for me at Dairy Queen this year since I discovered Lactaid Instant. We have been waiting for over a year now for these new windows.

Asides from that I took some much needed etsy photos of vintage items I have been collecting for the past 2 weeks like floral high waisted shorts, vintage YSL silk blouse, 60s two piece seen in the last picture of this post. I will be adding them little by little throughout the week. I discovered on Saturday from a neighbor that we have three abandoned kitties living in our yard. One of them, a little black one, poor thing, keeps drooling from the mouth with flies following him breaks my heart. Why do people do this cruel act during moving season?

In the last photo in this post you can see a quick peek at one of the three kitties who was very interested by the camera.

I had a wonderful weekend, we went thrifting on Friday night and found a few things, like the suede cutout wedges in these pictures. I changed the lace with some lace ones I made. I also found the leather purse worn in these shots, it is made by Frye, the red rose embroidered blouse was also found on Friday and the ethnic print full skirt. To top off this outfit I added my little black H&M boater with vintage hat pin and vintage dkny leather belt.

That is it for my weekend, how was everyone else's?

Black, White and Multicolored

I took these shots very quickly this morning before going to work. I found this vintage tennis skirt a few weeks ago. I still cannot get over the print. It reminds me of Pucci, I once found a vintage Pucci slip dress. It decorates the wall in my bedroom now, it is so fragile I am so afraid to wear it. I got a much needed hair trim on Friday, I love how my hair feels lighter.

The tee is from Lululemon, necklace self made with a thrifted hair bow, purse thrifted, white socks H&M and Black jellies by Melissa.

Have a wonderful Monday!
