L'├ęcole est finie!

In french we say L'├ęcole est finie when school is out for summer, and well thats whats going on today! I had my last pattern making exam of the semester. I am so happy to be done with this one it seems like it lasted way to long and it felt like I was doing exams for 2 years.
Today I am wearing my newly thrifted Muse by Christian Chenail (Quebec designer) blouse. I was so happy to find this gem of a blouse, the way it ties at the back, the darts, the collar and the great pattern in the fabric. The four leaf clover my man found for me in Parc Lafontaine a few weeks ago, I have been looking for one for ages. I have a ton of new stuff to put up in the etsy shop, I will have a big photo shoot this weekend and post everything next week, I have collected alot in the past few months!
My next post will be dedicated to men's wear, I had a men's pattern making class this semester and I really got to appreciate men's wear. I had a photo shoot with my man, he was my model back in April I can't wait to share with you all the great ideas he came up with. I also will post a picture of my men's wear creation a theatrical vest!
Stay tuned!

Wishing for a sunny and warm summer

My school semester is finally comming to an end and well I wish the weather was nicer. Montreal keeps promising rainy days and cold mornings. This is not at all fun for summer dresses and bare legs with sandals. I have a bunch of pretty pieces in my wardrobe that scream at me every morning. I was browsing through some of my vintage pictures and found this one of a girl group from the 60s. They were Honey Ltd on Lee Hazelwood's record lable LHI. There 45s are very rare. I have hurd there version of Louie Louie that blew me away the first time I hurd it on myspace. I hope it's still up ... I adore this picture of them in their simple 60s frocks baring there legs it makes me so nostalgic for summer!
So what I am getting to in this post is let the sushine in over here in Montreal !

My first pattern comes to life

I have been very busy this semester. As some of you may already know I study fashion design. This semester I learned how to make lifesize patterns. This was so much fun. The best part was making the drawing come to life. Everything was made by me. I can't really explain the great feeling I got from this project. So here is my creation a purple sleeveless coton summer blouse, the belt is the accessory that I found for 2$ on St-Hubert street in this neat little button shop. I will be giving the first prototype to my mother because without her around I would never be were I am today, Happy mothers day mom :)
