It's been a crazy summer for me! I moved and alot of things changed in my life. The past few months were hard on my creativity. My last semester seemed to be more geared towards my classes that have nothing to do with fashion design classes. I kind of have this feeling of fear, of not having insperations. I have been looking at alot of fashion history books and analyzing details. I came across these french illustrations from 1938, in this book called Fashion. Published in 2003, by L'aventurine who put this lovely little book together. It is translated in 4 languages, English, French, German and Russian. I was taken away by all the details from the 1938 collection. I don't generally really like 30s stuff but the details here are amazing. They seem even ahead of their time!

I plan to make a mini collection inspired by all the amazing details found in these dresses, skirts and blouses. I start school on the 24th, I cannot wait to really start this harder part of my fashion design education, there are so many things I wanna know about and know how to do! Next year I actually make a mini collection, now that will be a great amazing chalenge! I am sure many hours of sweat and tears are to come!
I hope you get inspired by these illustrations I wanted to share with you all!

I can't wait to see what you blog about your schoolwork for this semester! I'm sure the 30s details inspired collection will be gorgeous!

Lovely. I look forward to seeing how you draw from these in your work!! Best wishes.
I love these! Thanks for sharing them. What really blows me away is the different kinds of sleeves and detailing. I think sleeves are the most neglected part of fashion ready-to-wear today, so it's cool to see such an inspiring set of lovely and unusual sleeves.
hurrah! these photos are beautiful. it really makes me want to get some sewing done because it's certainly hard to find good 30's dresses to wear. lovely inspiration!!!!
